Thu 5th–Mon 9th August. Longreach-Cracow-Theebine-Gympie-Home
Thursday 5th August
Brunch in Barcaldine, a lovely little town.
Overnighted in a gravel pit… just short of Emerald, not too much road traffic so a comfortable night.
Friday 6th August
Travelled through Emerald, Springsure, Moura and Theodore today. Ended up at Cracow for overnight – a virtual ghost town but it does have a substantial Gold Mine near by. The only open business is the Cracow Hotel, a great place.
Saturday 7th August
Back on the road with the plan being a pub meal for our final night together. Kate and Paul heading home on Sunday and we plan to be home on Monday.
During our drive to the Theebine Hotel, through some back roads, we came across this lovely old bridge.
The wonderful looking old pub for our end of trip meal, pool and cards.
Thanks to Kate and Paul for spending a great part of this trip with us. Especially as all plans went out the window and we effectively did a lap of Australia!
Sunday 8th August
We said good bye to Kate and Paul who have continued straight home today, we’ve decided to spend one more night away at a lovely farm type stay east of Gympie to relax a little and arrive home Monday alter the Brisbane COVID lockdown has finished.
