Kingfisher Travels

Day 31 - Wednesday. Travel day, up early at 5am for a our first flight from Athens at 8:20am.  After some initial struggle managed to get a supervisor to check our luggage through to Singapore so no concern about collecting and resubmitting luggage (and visa issues) at Istanbul.  After landing, walked around the very large Istanbul Airport for a few hours waiting for our 10 hour 1:30pm flight to Singapore.   Arrives around 5am Thursday after the time change. Day 32 - Thursday. After arriving very early having not much sleep overnight, got to our hotel about 7am unfortunately couldn't get into our room until 11am.  Although we did get an upgrade so falling asleep wasn't a problem. In the evening headed into the city.  Some street food along the esplanade, then a visit to the Gardens by the Bay for the their night time Garden Rhapsody Light Show, this was great.  Then couldn't miss the opportunity to see Singapore at night from the 56th floor outdoor observation deck at the M

Day 28 - Sunday. Arrived into Athens mid morning, VERY HOT but was able to check directly into our accomodation to settle in, possibly had a snooze in the air conditioning!  Our room has a great view of the famous Acropolis. Went out exploring but got hit by the 39 degree heat, not nice, so opted to get on the Hop-on/hop-off air conditioned (not so much) bus.  Learnt and saw all the major sights and Port areas, at least the view from the bus.  Local Greek meals for lunch and dinner with a cocktail or two from our Hotel's rooftop bar with a great view of the Acropolis before and after sunset.           Day 29 - Monday. With the predicted top for the next few days to remain 39 degrees and 9am temperatures already well into the 30's, we decided that the only sane time to visit the Acropolis would be as soon as it opens at 8am.  This was last night's plan for today... but we didn't wake up in time.  So plan B,  catch the bus out to the Greek Riviera and stop off at the beac
