Tue 1st - Sat 5th August - Santorini

Day 23 - Tuesday.

We arrived into Santorini late last night, straight to our unit in Imervogli.

And awoke to this view from our room.  FANTASTIC!

And to top it off, our daily breakfasts looked like this...

Our accommodation "Caldera Memories" was absolutely brilliant, positioned just a little away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and therefore quiet enough to relax.

Later in the morning we went for a walk along the (Fira - Oia) walking track but only a far as Imerovigli's main part of town.  That was enough in the sun.

Nice dinner at the local Taverna.

Day 24 - Wednesday.

Onto the local bus this morning to visit Fira, the capital of Santorini.  Very busy, people everywhere, virtually no road rules.  But like everywhere else, incredible views.

Then we went on an afternoon Sunset BBQ Cruise, this was wonderful.

A memorable day.

Day 25 - Thursday.

Picked up a rental car today much to Tracey's anguish about driving around here.  Roads narrow, quad bikes everywhere and aggressive drivers.  But all was good, it took a day for Tracey to start to relax a little in the car :)  (Santorini roads/drivers or my driving??).

Went to Oia today famous for all those photos.  Wandered the streets and cliff face buildings, great environment... only 30 degrees but along the marble/stone streets, white, white, white buildings and no breeze it felt like 40+ degrees - very hot.

After sweltering at Oia, managed to find a little beach on the way back to rest and have a drink.

Dinner at a local Restaurant in Imervogli, Mezza.  Then a night time stroll looking back up to Fira.

Day 26 - Friday.

Total rest day today, around the pool.  Read books, relaxed and swam all day.  But in the evening went to one of the best rated Restaurants on Santorini "Metaxy Mas" and it was fabulous.

Day 27 - Saturday.

Even the sunrises are beautiful.

Last day on Santorini today so headed out to explore a little more.  Visited the Akrotiri Ruins, these were well worth it.  Excavations of a 30000 strong city existing thousands of years ago.  After this found a great spot on the waterfront for relaxing and a swim for an hour or two.  Then a bit of a tour of the island including the lighthouse point for some nice views.

Then the final Santorini sunset from our unit.

With an early morning flight the following day, a couple more snaps.
