Thu 9th - Sat 11th August - Singapore

Day 31 - Wednesday.

Travel day, up early at 5am for a our first flight from Athens at 8:20am.  After some initial struggle managed to get a supervisor to check our luggage through to Singapore so no concern about collecting and resubmitting luggage (and visa issues) at Istanbul.  After landing, walked around the very large Istanbul Airport for a few hours waiting for our 10 hour 1:30pm flight to Singapore.   Arrives around 5am Thursday after the time change.

Day 32 - Thursday.

After arriving very early having not much sleep overnight, got to our hotel about 7am unfortunately couldn't get into our room until 11am.  Although we did get an upgrade so falling asleep wasn't a problem.

In the evening headed into the city.  Some street food along the esplanade, then a visit to the Gardens by the Bay for the their night time Garden Rhapsody Light Show, this was great.  Then couldn't miss the opportunity to see Singapore at night from the 56th floor outdoor observation deck at the Marina Bay Sands Resort although Tracey not the most excited about this.

   

Day 33 - Friday.

So comfortable a bed this morning we missed our breakfast but we decided to head to Chinatown then Orchard Road.  Unfortunately it started to rain and didn't let up all day.

Day 34 - Saturday.

Last day today so planned to relax around the pool, but overcast so local shopping instead.  Late in the day we went back to the city, Gardens by the Bay in the daytime then the Marina Bay Sands fountain light show, which was spectacular.

Day 34 - Sunday

Travelling home today...  last day.  An enjoyable and adventurouas five week trip, although it will be nice to be home.
