Tue 8th–Sun 13th June. Fremantle/Perth
Cold windy day today so we went for a sight-seeing drive into Perth. Checked out Kings Park and the Botanic Gardens. Thought it would be a quick visit but ended up being there most of the day. Huge and well planned out. Sits on top of a hill and includes the War Memorial as well.Tuesday 8th June
Then back to Fremantle for an Indian dinner with the sunsetting on our way.
We ventured back into Perth today to take a tour of the Perth Mint… fantastic. Watched them pour a gold bar, going from 1200 degrees to being able to touch it in less than a minute. Expanded on some of our knowledge we obtained from the Kalgoorlie Goldfields.Wednesday 9th June
Then we proceeded to walk the Perth streets and check out a couple of bars ending up at a very quaint licensed pizza bar for dinner.
Thursday 10th June
Fremantle – coffee ; lunch at waterfront – rock lopbster then bat hopping including darling darling- dumplings
Today was Fremantle’s turn for our sight-seeing. Viewing the architecture, the very old prison including the cannon used to nark time for ships.
Lunch along the water front and some bar hopping through the afternoon. Ending at another quaint bar in one of the side streets followed by some dumplings for dinner.
Friday 11th June
Little bit quieter day today, we did go to the markets but found them a little disappointing but did find our night time “Torchlight Tour” of the old Fremantle prison fantastic.
Saturday 12th June
Off to Rottnest island today. Hope to see some Quokka’s.
We hired bikes (electric) to cruise around the island, perfect choice to self guide our way around the island
And then we found some Quokka’s…
After dropping the bikes off we sat in the island bar which seems to accept all patrons…
Sunday 13th June
Today we did some chores as we depart Perth/Fremantle tomorrow. But we did manage to have lunch out in Fremantle on the Cappuccino strip before relaxing for the rest of the day.
