Day 2 Morven – Cooper Creek(Windorah)
Out of Morven about 8am. Beyond Charleville we left behind most of the trucks and roadworks and started feeling like being in the outback.
Long straight roads…..
We decided to visit one of Kate’s Outback Pub’s as found in her “Outback Pub Book” for lunch.
The “Royal Hotel” Eromanga, the furthest town in Australia from any coastline.
Lovely lunch cooked by the policeman’s wife, as the publican was out of town. I guess cooking for her 6 sons helps, as the meal was very good.
Then the dreaded engine warning light !!!! What does it mean??
No place to get any service to plug into the Electronic Control Unit, Sunday! Long weekend! 500km’s from a mechanic!
So limping (well all seems ok, other than a warning light) all the way to Cooper Creek to camp on the edge of the river.
Temperature overnight dropping to 5.5 degrees, not yet really cold but we need the customary fire.
Waking up to morning coffee on the banks of the river.
See you next time.
Breakfast would have been glorious Glenn....did you throw some snags on the barbie?
