Day 7 Fri Jervois – Ruby Gap
We did some calculating of our time. As we did not travel through the desert we were actually a day or so in front of our plans. So we decided to take a “short cut” through the Cattlewater pass into the East Macdonnell Ranges, then to Ruby Gap a place Kate and Paul missed out on last time they were here.
Some easy driving????
But some nice views…
And interesting fellow travellers…
Visiting a 1898 gold mine …
Arriving at Ruby Gap, driving down Hale River looking for a nice campsite. Returning to the entry point of the river for a solid base campsite. Then enjoying the light sprinkles of rain before retiring to bed.
Glen Helen Resort tomorrow night via Alice Springs for supplies then a day off from travelling, looking forward to that. See ya.
What an adventure..looks great....but Kate, watch out for those dingoes, especially during your night sojourns!
