Day 30 (Tue 14/8/18) Desert Queen Baths - Lake Dora
Departed Desert Queen Baths but stopped an hour later to work on a rattle coming from Paul’s roof racks.
Continuing on our 600km detour around the flooded CSR we pass through Tefler Mine.
Then we pick a spot to camp along the edge of a dry salt water lake - Lake Dora.
Travelled 262 km’s today and passed 1 other 7 car group coming the other way.
Day 31 (Wed 15/8/18) Lake Dora - Well 35
Continuing our detour along 80 km/hr roads and filling up at Punmu and Kunawarritji before re-entering the CSR approaching Well 33.
And severe corrugations, no sweet spot speed. So had to drop back to 15-20km/h
Travelled 232 km’s today and passed 1 single car coming the other way and 1 2 car group going the same way.
Day 32 (Thu 16/8/18) Well 35 - Casuarina Grove near Well 39
Departed Well 35 after another sub zero night, up around 7:45 once the temperature reached 10 degrees. Sand dunes and corrugations again, with slow going at around 35kmh.
Well 36 was a delight as we were treated with a bird display from the local finches.
Some more wonderful desert flowers - “Northern Tinsel”, we think.
Lunch in some caves with some rock Art, not that we could find any.
Well 38
Camping just north of Well 39 in amongst Casuarina trees.
And we were chorused by Dingo howls for a minute or two during the evening.
Travelled 124 km’s today and passed 1 two car group coming the other way.
