Mon 25, Tue 26 & Wed 27 June Lake Argyle – El Questro

Day 17-19

25/6

We left Lake Argyle early to get the air conditioner re-gassed.  After stocking up the groceries we headed for the Gibb River Road, short detour to look at the Ivanhoe Crossing – Kate and Paul always wanted to see it!!

And our neighbours look very similar to what we have at home… kingfisher style!

After the Gorge walk we found a spot to try for some Barramundi for dinner, unfortunately all we saw was a lone, probably salt water, crocodile on the other bank.  Not that this sighting would persuade the true fisherman…

After the night in the bungalow, our camp site for our next 2 nights at El Questro wasn’t too shabby either.  “In the shade of a Coolabah Tree” or in our case a Boab Tree,

Today, a short drive to Zeebedee Springs.  A lovely spot flowing with warm 32 degree spring fed water in amongst the trees.

Then on to cruise the Chamberlin Gorge, again the fish weren’t biting…

But watching Captain Ahab was amusing in itself, not just once running the almost 20m cruiser aground on underwater rocks - almost emptying himself and his passenger into the crocodile infested waters…

Then back to our campsite for drinks and nibbles.  Tomorrow we head towards Mitchell Falls.

See ya.
