Then onwards, Katherine for lunch; Bitter Springs, Mataranka for overnight.

But during the afternoon we took advantage of what Bitter Springs has to offer…. lovely 32deg spring fed creek, hop in and float downstream, hop out and walk back and do it again!

Again another relaxing afternoon, followed by crumbed cutlets for dinner… tough time we are having!

15/7

Decided to head for Lorella Springs Station today (NW of Borroloola), some good reports.

But had a slight hiccup at Roper Bar where we planned to fill up… being Sunday they don’t open until 1pm, we required fuel to reach Borroloola so it looked like we had to wait 3 hours.  Til Tracey mentioned the sat phone, so we phoned Lorella Springs to see if they had fuel… yes but at $3.00/lt.  (Roper Bar would have charged $2.25 anyway) so off we went to Lorella Springs.

Lunch spot…

And the Ranger letter box in Limmen National Park (next to the airstrip)…

Then on to Lorella Springs… what a place.  This place is designed for staying longer than overnight.  Hot springs, water holes, river fishing and tracks to the beach, camp anywhere on the 1million acre property.  We may leave our planned quick look at Lawn Hill to another trip and stay here for a couple of days.  Paul is keen to catch a fish… apparently “you will get sick of unhooking Queenies” up at the Rosie Creek fishing camping area.  We will see.

Will provide an update of our time at Lorella Springs next blog.
